Profit First accounting is a solution to help business owners who have profitable businesses, but bad personal finances get paid as a business owner. It separates your business finances into multiple accounts like profit, tax, operations, etc. to make sure you, the owner, getting paid is made a priority and actually happens.
We focus on service based small businesses and nonprofits because these are the owners we want to help. We found that more often than not, service business owners and nonprofit owners both usually want to make an impact, or improvement to someone’s life. These companies also have slim margins, and don’t often get the dedicated attention they need, what’s exactly what we do.
CPA, accountants, and bookkeepers are all a little different. Although their responsibilities may overlap, generally speaking bookkeepers organize journals and reconcile, the the accountant uses those ledgers to create reports and statements, which a CPA can review to help develop tax strategies for the business.
We have been using the profit-first methodology since launch. Most business owners fall into the trap of constant reinvestment, to the point where their business is thriving while the owner is struggling. We hope to use Profit First and our accounting expertise to help owners save time, grow profits, and promote sustainable growth.
